DATE SAFER.
Main Squeeze filters for compatibility before you ever meet someone — but meeting people from the internet still carries risk. Here are the tools we've built, and the habits that keep you safe.
TOOLS WE'VE BUILT
Verify your account and take a live camera photo check to earn a verified badge. Look for it before you agree to meet someone.
Report a profile, a message, or an interaction from the report menu. Reports go to our moderation queue for review.
Block instantly from a profile or a chat. Blocking removes the connection and stops further contact.
Your private details — precise location and social handles — are owner-only and never shown in discovery. Manage them in Settings.
Location is optional, requested in the foreground once, and stored coarsely at city level. There is no background tracking, and your exact coordinates are never shown to anyone. You can enter a location manually or turn it off in Settings.
Clear rules for how members treat each other, and what gets an account removed.
BEFORE YOU MEET
Get the verified badge so other people know you're a real person. Look for it on theirs before agreeing to meet.
A 5-minute call confirms the person matches their photos and feels like who they've been in chat.
A quick reverse image search on their photos catches a lot of catfishing.
If something feels off — pacing, money mentions, refusal to call — believe yourself and unmatch.
ON THE DATE
First few dates in busy public places. Daylight is better than late night for first meetups.
Share who you're meeting, where, and when. Send a check-in text when you arrive and when you leave.
Drive yourself, rideshare, or transit. Don't get picked up or dropped off on a first date.
Order your own. Never leave it unattended. Stop when you stop being comfortable.
And easy to grab. You should always be able to call someone or order a ride.
IF SOMETHING HAPPENS
If something happened — anything from a creepy DM to assault — block them and report from their profile so we can act.
For crimes, contact local police. We cooperate with valid legal requests and can preserve account data on request.
Resources below are free and confidential.
